Translating research results into better therapeutic targets in multiple myeloma. My lab currently focuses on the interaction of tumor cells with adipocytes, the association of obesity and cancer, and the role of bone marrow microenvironment in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone diseases.

Dr. Jing Yang joined the Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center in January 2020. Dr. Yang received her PhD degree from Xiangya Medical College, Central South University, China. She completed her post doctorial training in the Myeloma Institute of Research and Therapy at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences and at the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Dr. Qing  Yi lab. As a PI, she has managed many projects funded by extramural grants, private funds, and industry alliances. Some highlights include R01s, projects and core service for the MDACC Myeloma SPORE (P50) from NIH/NCI, and the funding received from the American Society of Hematology, American Cancer Society, and other foundations. She has an excellent publication track record with 72 peer-review research articles that are in top-tier journals with high impact factors, such as Cell or Science specialized sister journals.
